For the Children, who will Create the Future of the Earth
The Eurus Energy Group is engaged in a variety of environmental education activities for the children. We foster the ability of children to think and act for themselves through on-site programs at schools and experiential environmental education programs.We contribute to the development of human resources who will lead the future of the earth by deepening their interests in environmental problems.
Outreach Lecture
We visit schools in the local governments of power plant locations and offer outreach lectures on wind and solar power generation. Our staff act as instructors and conduct classes such as lectures and craft making related to wind and solar power generation and offer power plant visitation events.
In lectures, students learn about the basics of renewable energy and the mechanics of wind and solar power generation. Through craft making, students learn about the principles behind power generation by making models of wind turbines and conducting experiments. On power plant visitation events, they visit the neighboring power plants where students are exposed to the natural environment peculiar to the location and learn about the process of power generation.
Experiential Environmental Education Program “Future & Energy Project”
The environmental educational program, Future & Energy Project, targets elementary schools and educational facilities in the local governments of power plant locations, which encourages children who will lead the future to proactively and creatively think about energy.
After children learn about the background behind global warming and energy by answering questions, the children use tablets to learn actively by taking pictures of ideas on new energy in their everyday lives. They then work in teams to think about new energy and make a presentation on how to extract and use that energy, enabling them to learn from their peers’ ideas and deepen their understanding of energy.
