Policy and Basic Concept

Eurus Energy Group (hereinafter referred to as "we") articulates our commitment to "Helping to Preserve the Global Environment by Disseminating and Expanding Clean Energy Technologies" in our corporate philosophy. We are dedicated to addressing social issues through our business activities. To this end, we are committed to achieve our stated corporate vision to "Develop with local communities and maintain the trust of society".

We always consider community and people above all else and will develop our businesses through open communications with and active involvement of the local community. We understand the close relationship between the global environment and our business activities, and we respect international norms while actively working to secure the safety of local environments and to conserve resources. Furthermore, as we expand our business globally, we respect the culture of each country and aim to coexist with local communities overseas, fully recognizing our role as a corporate member of society.

We position the Toyota Tsusho Group Human Rights Policy as our highest-level policy regarding human rights, and this policy embodies our commitment to respecting human rights as we engage in renewable energy business.

Scope of application

This policy applies to officers and employees within our Group. We also expect all of our business partners, including suppliers, to understand and comply with this policy.

Commitment to respecting human rights

We recognize that our renewable energy business activities may impact the human rights of internal and external stakeholders. We strive to respect human rights throughout our entire value chain.

Our stance on international norms and laws

We are committed to respecting internationally recognized human rights outlined in the “International Bill of Human Rights” and the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. We conduct our business activities in accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
We comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the countries and regions where we conduct business activities. Where national laws and international human rights standards differ, we will follow the higher standard; where they are in conflict, we will seek ways, including through third party partnerships, to respect international human rights to the greatest extent possible.

Corporate governance on human rights

Our human rights efforts are managed by the Director in Charge of Legal Affairs and are submitted or reported to the Board of Directors.

Human rights due diligence

We strive to identify and prevent or mitigate any adverse impacts on human rights in our business through our human rights due diligence mechanisms.

Remediation

If we discover that our business activities have caused or contributed to an adverse impact on human rights, we work to remediate them through appropriate procedures and dialog.

Grievance mechanism

We have established a consultation and reporting system to address any potential concerns that employees and other stakeholders may have. We will endeavor to establish a reporting system and grievance mechanisms to appropriately understand and respond to all human rights issues affecting our officers and employees or otherwise related to our business.

Education

We provide appropriate education and training to our officers and employees so that they are familiar and comply with this policy. Moreover, we include this policy in our guidelines and other necessary procedures so as to firmly embed it in our business activities.

Disclosure

We will persistently review our efforts to respect human rights, track progress and disclose our findings in a timely manner through our website, etc.

Dialogue / discussion with stakeholders

We recognize the importance of understanding adverse human rights impacts from the perspective of affected stakeholders and, where necessary, will endeavor to consult with third-party organizations with expertise in human rights and engage in dialogue and discussions with relevant stakeholders.

Specific Human Rights Issues

Modern slavery

We do not tolerate modern slavery, such as forced labor and human trafficking, in our business activities.

Discrimination

We are committed to respecting the human rights and diversity of individuals. We do not engage in any form of discrimination based on gender, age, nationality, race, skin color, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disabilities, political views, or other factors in our workplaces.

Inhumane or degrading treatment including harassment

We do not tolerate any inhumane treatment, including sexual harassment or workplace bullying.

Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining

We respect the freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining.

Working hours and wage

We establish policies regarding the prevention of unfair and underpaid employment, eliminate inappropriate employment and pay above the minimum wage in compliance with the labor laws and regulations of the countries in which we operate.

Occupational health and safety

We comply with all laws and internal standards related to safety and health and take appropriate measures to protect the safety and health of all related people when conducting business activities.

Right to privacy and freedom of expression

We strive to protect the right to privacy and freedom of expression of all individuals with whom we engage in the course of our business activities.

Health and safety of neighboring residents

To prevent an adverse impact on the safety, environment, and health of the local community in our business activities, we conduct impact assessments based on laws and regulations and communicate sincerely with local residents. We implement necessary measures to avoid risks and mitigate the impact in accordance with laws, regulations, and international norms.

Rights of indigenous peoples

We recognize that our business may have impacts on indigenous peoples' rights, as well as their ownership and use of land and natural resources in the countries and regions where they reside. We recognize the unique culture and history of indigenous peoples and consider their rights stipulated in the laws and regulations of such countries and regions as well as in international norms, such as the "United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples."
