Eurus Energy Signs MOU with GE Vernova
Integrated Deployment of Renewable Energy and Data Center Establishment in Northern Hokkaido

Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation (“Eurus Energy”) announced today that Eurus Energy signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with GE Vernova to the promote renewable energy deployment and the establishment of data centers powered by renewable energy in northern Hokkaido. The initiative was announced at a signing ceremony at METI.



The Government of Japan, in its 7th Strategic Energy Plan, has set a target for wind power to account for 4–8% of the nation's electricity supply by fiscal year 2040. Additionally, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), through its GX2040 Vision, has outlined the concept of GX (Green Transformation) Industrial Location. This initiative aims to promote regional revitalization and economic growth by efficiently and effectively developing new industrial zones and decarbonized power sources, taking into consideration the regional disparities in the availability of clean energy.

Based on this MOU, Eurus Energy and GE Vernova explore opportunities under the GX Industrial Location in northern Hokkaido and aim to further promote the adoption of renewable energy by utilizing GE Vernova’s onshore wind turbines, while simultaneously developing data centers powered by renewable energy in an integrated manner.
