Eurus Technical Service Begins “24-hour Manned Monitoring Service for Wind and Solar Power Plants”
– Supporting safe and stable operation of power plants and contributing to the expansion of renewable energy –

2024.11.20

Eurus Technical Service Corporation (“Eurus Technical Service”), a group company of Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation (“Eurus Energy”), announced today that it has begun offering a 24-hour manned monitoring service to support the safe and stable operation of power plants for wind and solar power generation companies in Japan.

■Background of the service
In 2014, Eurus Technical Service established a 24-hour centralized monitoring center and a system to monitor the power plants*1 owned by the Eurus Energy Group in Japan 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, working to thoroughly manage risks and maintain safe and stable operation. While wind and solar power generation is growing recently, new issues have emerged in the operation of power plants, such as mandatory remote monitoring*2 and measures against natural disasters, as well as the theft of equipment. We believe that our expertise can contribute to solving these issues for other businesses, and began offering this service.

■Service Features
- Prevents accidents with a 24/7 monitoring system
Dedicated staff monitor power plants 24/7, including visual inspections, and respond to emergencies such as accidents, to support their safe and stable operation.

- Improves the efficiency of power plants by optimizing operation and maintenance
This service helps resolve various issues related to power plant operations, such by providing prompt detection and analysis of abnormalities in power plant facilities through the centralized monitoring and operation system and by minimizing outage time, contributing to increased power generation by making operations efficient.

Based on our corporate philosophy of “Helping to preserve the global environment by disseminating and expanding clean energy technologies”, Eurus Energy group will contribute to the development of the wind and solar power generation industry through the expansion of this service.

*1 As of November 2024, this service covers more than 400 wind turbines and approximately 1.13 million solar panels operated by the Eurus Energy Group in Japan.
*2 Power plants with transformers rated at 170kV or higher are required to establish remote monitoring and control systems.

Service Details

■ Monitoring service to prevent accidents
- Emergency contact
We will contact relevant parties 24 hours a day to expediate the initial response in emergencies such as accidents at power plants
- Camera monitoring
As a countermeasure against recent intrusions and theft at power plants and substations, we verify the situation remotely based on alerts from intrusion detection cameras and contact security companies and relevant parties to ensure the safety of the power plant.
- Safety shutdown of wind power plants when thunderclouds approach
For wind power plants located near public roads and buildings, we provide safety shutdown operations when thunderclouds approach to prevent secondary damage, such as equipment parts being scattered by lightning. Safety shutdown conditions are optimized through thunder cloud data analysis, ensuring both safety and minimizing lost profits.

■ Operation and maintenance optimization service
- Remote reset of wind turbine alerts
We quickly analyze the details of alerts issued by wind turbine and perform restart operations for minor problems, thereby improving power generation and operation rates. Note: Service may not be available depending on the conditions.
- Output control support
We handle everything from confirming output control requests from power companies to operating them.
