This approach is demonstrated at the Coromuel Wind Project in Baja California Sur, where Eurus Energy America worked with the local grid operator to address the challenges of an isolated, fossil-fuel-dependent system with limited tolerance for variability. By integrating a battery energy storage system and advanced plant controls, the project smooths wind output, supports grid stability, and allows renewable generation to operate predictably within a fragile network. Commissioned in 2022, Coromuel became Mexico's first hybrid wind-battery facility—providing a practical, operating example of how battery storage enables renewables where grid reliability is the primary constraint.
