Eurus Energy Begins Replacement of Eurus Mameda Wind Farm

2025.03.03

Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation (“Eurus Energy”) announced today that Eurus Yokohama Wind Farm LLC, a group company of Eurus Energy, begun the replacement (rebulding) of the Eurus Mameda Wind Farm (capacity: 10.5MW), which is operating in Yokohama Town, Shimokita District, Aomori Prefecture on March 1, 2025

The Wind Farm, which started commercial operation in October 2003, has been in operation for more than 20 years, and three of the six wind turbines (single output of 1.75MW) were temporarily terminated operation in March 2023 for the reconstruction work. The other three wind turbines are still in commercial operation with ongoing maintenance.

In the replacement project, the three wind turbines that had terminated commercial operation will be removed and be replaced with two Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy S.A. wind turbines, each with an output of 4.3 MW, one of the largest in Japan. Commercial operation is scheduled to start in February 2027, and the generated power will be equivalent to the electricity consumed by approximately 5,000 average households, and is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 10,000 tons per year.*1 The wind farms will continue to effectively utilize abundant wind resources and contribute to the revitalization of the community.

Based on our corporate philosophy of "Helping to preserve the global environment by disseminating and expanding clean energy technologies" and our corporate vision of "Develop with local communities and maintain the trust of society", Eurus Energy group will continue to work on further expansion of wind power generation and contribute to global environmental conservation and the creation of a sustainable society.
