Hamasato Wind Farm and Kawaminami Wind Farm Start Operation
- Projects
Hamasato Wind Farm (Horonobe Town, total output capacity of 47.5 MW) and Kawaminami Wind Farm (Wakkanai City and Toyotomi Town, total output capacity of 80 MW), which were under construction in the northern Hokkaido region by Dohoku Wind Farm LLC, a group company of Eurus Energy Holdings, started operation on May 19, 2023.
Both projects are part of the "Dohoku Wind Power Generation Project" to install a total of 107 wind turbines in Hokkaido’s Dohoku region, which is blessed with excellent wind conditions. The Hamasato Wind Farm has installed 14 and Kawaminami Wind Farm has installed 19 wind turbines, each with a single unit output of 4.3 MW, one of the largest in Japan. All electricity generated will be sold to the Hokkaido Electric Power Network.
The combined power generated by the two projects is equivalent to the electricity consumed by approximately 93,000 average households, and is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 145,000 tons per year.
Hokkaido is one of the regions in Japan with excellent wind conditions, and Eurus Energy Group will continue to actively promote wind power projects in Hokkaido.
