- 「9MW Solar Power Project in Casablanca, Valparaiso Region」
- 「9MW Solar Power Project in Yungay, Biobio Region」
Chile is experiencing stable economic growth, and the utilization of renewable energy is being promoted as its demand for electricity grows. The projects are implemented with the cooperation of the Chilean and Japanese governments. Through these projects, Eurus will respond to the needs of industry for decarbonization, and also contribute to the development of clean energy and the realization of a decarbonized society in Chile.
*Ministry of the Environment, Japan has been implementing the “JCM Model Projects,” which provides financial supports covering up to half of the initial investment costs. The purpose of this model projects is to financially support the implementation of projects which reduce GHG emissions by utilizing leading decarbonizing technologies in developing countries, and in return, to acquire JCM credits for achievement of Japan’s GHG emission reduction and the partner countries emission reduction target.
Eurus Energy Group has selected a new project for its adoption of the “Financing Programme for the Joint Crediting Mechanism Model Projects in FY2021” (JCM Model Projects), which it announced on September 28, 2021. The “9MW Solar Power Project in Casablanca, Valparaiso Region” initially selected for as a JCM Project, has been changed to the “9MW Solar Power Project in San Antonio, Valparaiso Region.” The overall size of the project remains unchanged.
This newly selected project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 8,232 tons per year, and when combined with the "9 MW Solar Power Project in Yungay, Biobio Region," the annual emission reductions achieved by the JCM Project are expected to be 16,708 tons per year.
