About Wind Farms

As the wind blows, large blades spinning at the top of a tower, connects to a generator that converts the energy to produce electricity. Wind power is a relatively efficient form of generation as it can convert 40% of its energy into electricity.

The turbine blades are designed to track the wind as it changes its direction in order to capture the maximum amount of wind. If the wind speed becomes excessively high, the turbine shuts down to avoid danger.

Wind energy is a clean source of fuel that emits very little carbon dioxide (CO2, the leading greenhouse gas associated with global climate changes). A wind farm does not produce SOx or NOx because it does not rely on combustion of fossil fuel. Since the effectuation of Kyoto protocol, wind energy has been attracting growing attention and further research & development is expected.
